English lessons

Two month ago I attended my first English lessons in NES. We are taught by David who is from America. We have read a lot of texts, have written several writing assignments, and have discussed many themes on lessons and so on. I think that this course helped me to make better my writing skills. It became easier to write text, which contains at least two hundred words.

Reading became easier for me. I have read 2 books during this two month, “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of the Azkaban” and “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland”. I used to read in English much less before, but now I really like to read in English.

Once we listened "Pink Floyd" in the lesson. It’s one of my loveliest bands, and I was very glad to listen two of them songs in English lesson. I think that it is really important moment of this studying, because I think there are not a lot of people in the world who have listened his or her lovely group in some lesson.

I don’t know what I should add in this post. I just can say that I like this lessons, because they are really interesting and help me improve my English skills.

Masha

When one of my friends read my blog she says that there is no word about her. Now I want to make amends to Masha and tell about her. I met her long time ago, but we started communicating well about two years ago. She has finished KELL, so she is my ex-schoolmate. Now she studies at The Faculty of Sociology at HSE and live in neighboring flat in dormitory, but she spend a lot of time in our flat. Now she is sitting in front of me and making her homework and she doesn’t know that I am writing my blog about her. I like communicating with her, because she is smart and funny; there are many themes which we talk about friends, our school, our university, music, films and so on. From time to time she watches with me “The Big Bang Theory”, it is a popular American sitcom, which I and Masha like. Last two New Years I celebrate with friends, there is Masha in companies both times. Now I can say that Masha is one of the most important persons in my life.

Something funny

This time I want to tell a strange story. From time to time I talk into my sleep. I know many stories about what people says into their sleep, but I have never heard so strange story.

It was in an April. I lived in hotel that week with the other girl, Sonya (there are I and she in this photo on the hotel's balcony). One morning she told me about my strange behavior last night. She knows that I talked from time to time into sleep, but she never suppose that I can move like I didn’t sleep.

So, according to her words I opened my eyes and sat on the bad. She thought that I had woken up, but I hadn’t. I looked at a window, after it I took a close look at her and said: “Do not you think that an ostrich outside is strange?” Then I want to bed.

The next day she told me about my strange behavior last night. She said me that she had been scared in the first moment. But immediately after I had gone to bed she burst out laughing. From time to time we remember this event and laugh together.

My Childhood Fairytale

This time I want to tell you about book and film series which I have grown up with. It is Harry Potter series. I really like stories and films about this boy. I was 7 years old when I saw “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets” in the cinema for the first time. I was really impressed by it, so I ask my dad to go with me to a book shop and buy me “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” and “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets”. Magical world, which every child can dive in with Rowling’s books, is fantastic. Now I have all 7 books about Harry in Russian. I have rereaded every book at least 3 times. By the way I have 2 first books in English. I downloaded the third book lately and I read it now. I think that books about Harry better to read in English than in Russian, because you can practice your language, find out new words and English isn’t difficult for understanding in these books, so you needn’t open a dictionary very often. Several times I watch films about Harry in English, but they are more difficult for understanding than books.

Kirov

I wanna tell you about Kirov city. It’s the place where I was born. It’s the place where I spent my entire youth. It is the place which is really special for me.
Kirov is located on the Vyatka River. This city has also been known Vyatka and Khlynov (the second variant is the elder one). My city is more than 600 years old.

For the past 18 years Kirov has become everything to me and there’s no place on earth that could be more important than my lovely hometown? My parents, friends, my boyfriend, my dog and cat, my flat, my street, my school, teachers and schoolmates – that’s what makes Kirov so special. And it also keeps lots of memories, such as walking through the quiet city streets, lovely parks, alleys, prospects, going to the cinema, theatres, museums, cafes and clubs.

Now I really miss Kirov. Moscow is absolutely different with its wide streets, enormous houses and skyscrapers.  There are too many people, it’s always noisy, wherever I am; I miss my parents and my boyfriend so much. I know my city quite well, but here in Moscow I don’t know a thing: which places are the best for visiting, eating, walking and so on.
